Could weak muscles slow your recovery from hip surgery?
NCT ID NCT07429955
Summary
This study aims to understand if having low muscle mass and strength before hip replacement surgery affects how well and how quickly older adults regain their independence. Researchers will follow 20 people aged 75 and older who are scheduled for hip surgery, measuring their muscle health before the operation and tracking their recovery for six months afterward. The goal is to gather information that could help doctors design better pre-surgery exercise or nutrition plans in the future.
