Scientists map hidden fat in back muscles to predict bone health

NCT ID NCT07238777

Summary

This study aimed to understand how fat buildup in back muscles relates to bone strength and muscle loss in older women. Researchers analyzed existing MRI and bone scan data from 100 postmenopausal women aged 60-80. The goal was to see if measuring back muscle quality could help manage age-related muscle and bone weakening.
