Scientists dig into muscle wasting in colorectal cancer

NCT ID NCT06780423

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study looks at why some colorectal cancer patients lose muscle mass (cachexia), which is linked to higher death rates. Researchers will take small muscle samples and use scans to compare muscle structure in 60 people: those with cachexia, those without, and healthy volunteers. The goal is to learn more about the muscle changes, not to test a treatment.
