First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This early-stage study tests whether transplanting a patient's own lab-grown muscle cells into their weakened muscles is safe and might help restore strength. Six adults who have lost muscle from long-term bed rest will receive the injections and be monitored for side effects and signs of muscle regrowth. The main goal is safety, not yet a proven treatment.
