First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This large study tested giving up to 6 doses of a malaria prevention medicine to over 94,000 infants in Mozambique, Sierra Leone, and Togo during their regular vaccination visits in the first two years of life. The goal was to see if this approach is practical and effective at reducing malaria cases and hospital visits. The medicine is safe, cheap, and easy to give alongside routine immunizations.
