New kidney disease drug enters first human testing phase

Summary
This is the first study in humans to test the safety of an experimental drug called MTX-439. Researchers will give the drug to 88 healthy adults and adults with diabetic kidney disease to see how their bodies handle it and check for side effects. The main goal is to find a safe dose range before testing if the drug can help treat the disease in future studies.
