First seen Jan 23, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study compares two types of injections for chronic shoulder pain caused by osteoarthritis. About 1,000 adults aged 45 and older will receive either a trigger point injection or a standard joint injection. Researchers want to see if the simpler trigger point method works just as well to reduce pain and improve daily function over 6 months.
