New contact lens aims to soothe Sjögren's dry eye
NCT ID NCT07185139
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This early study tests a special contact lens (MSCohi-O) for people with Sjögren's syndrome whose dry eyes don't improve with standard treatments. Twelve participants will wear the lenses for 12 hours a day over 14 sessions. Researchers will check for side effects and measure changes in eye health and comfort.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
MSCohi-O Lenses (a drug-coated contact lens)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a new way to manage severe dry eye in Sjögren's syndrome without daily eye drops.
What could go wrong
This is a very early, tiny trial (12 people) with no comparison group. It only tests short-term use, so success is far from guaranteed.
