First seen Apr 11, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This early study tests whether a patient's own stem cells can safely help with severe dry mouth caused by radiation therapy for head and neck cancer. Six to twelve participants receive an injection of their own bone marrow stem cells into the salivary glands. The main goal is to check for side effects, but researchers also measure changes in saliva production.
