Allergy pill could rebuild damaged nerves in MS patients

NCT ID NCT05359653

Summary

This study is testing whether clemastine fumarate, an over-the-counter allergy medication, can repair the protective myelin coating around nerves in people with multiple sclerosis (MS). Researchers will use advanced MRI brain scans to measure changes in myelin in 74 participants with relapsing-remitting MS over six months. The goal is to see if this drug can help the body rebuild damaged myelin, which could potentially slow or prevent disability progression.
