Brain's iron rings could unlock MS severity secrets
NCT ID NCT05123443
Summary
This study aims to understand if dark rings of iron seen around brain lesions in people with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) are a sign of a more severe disease course. Researchers will recruit 100 people with MS who had a special brain scan years ago to provide a blood sample for genetic testing and, for some, a new scan. By comparing old and new scans with genetic data, they hope to learn if these iron rings can predict future disability.
