New pill aims to fight diabetic vision loss
NCT ID NCT04187443
Summary
This early-stage study is testing the safety and initial effects of a new oral medication called MS-553 for diabetic macular edema, a condition where fluid leaks into the eye, harming vision. It will enroll 45 adults with diabetes who have this specific eye swelling and have not yet received treatment for it. Participants will take the pill for 8 weeks so researchers can check for side effects and see if it helps reduce the fluid in the eye.
