Summary
This study tested if a special hygiene regimen could prevent dangerous MRSA infections in people who carry the bacteria after leaving the hospital. Over 2,100 high-risk patients were randomly assigned to receive either the intensive hygiene treatment or standard hygiene education. The goal was to see if the treatment could reduce infections and the need for patients to return to the hospital.
