First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tested a complete kit using povidone iodine (a disinfectant) to remove MRSA bacteria from the nose, skin, and mouth of hospitalized patients. The goal was to see if the kit could quickly clear MRSA from the nose within 6 hours. Only one person enrolled before the study was stopped early, so results are very limited.
