Hospital tests new Germ-Killing kit against superbug
NCT ID NCT05696132
Summary
This study tested a new kit containing a nasal gel, antiseptic soap, and mouthwash to reduce or eliminate MRSA bacteria on patients' bodies. The goal was to see if this kit, using povidone iodine instead of standard treatments, could effectively clear the bacteria from the nose and prevent future infections. The trial was designed for adult patients already carrying MRSA during a hospital stay, but it was stopped very early after enrolling only one person.
