New surgery aims to heal Medication-Related jaw damage

Summary

This study tests a surgical technique for patients with medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ), a condition where jawbone tissue dies after certain drugs. Twenty adults will receive surgery using a special ultrasonic device (piezosurgery) to remove damaged bone, followed by a double-layer gum closure to promote healing. The main goals are to measure pain reduction and wound healing over time.
