Could a simple calculator replace scans for prostate checks?
NCT ID NCT07422597
Summary
This study is testing if a computer-based risk calculator can be as good as an MRI scan at finding serious prostate cancer in men with a suspicious PSA blood test. It aims to see if using the calculator first can reduce the number of men who need uncomfortable biopsies and scans, while still catching dangerous cancers. The study will also check if this approach causes less anxiety and is more cost-effective for the healthcare system.
