MRI vs. scalpel: new study tests if scans can match surgery in measuring breast tumors

Summary
This study aims to see if MRI scans can accurately measure the size of breast tumors compared to the actual tumor removed during surgery. About 59 women with suspicious or cancerous breast masses will get an MRI before surgery. Researchers will compare the MRI-based 3D volume to the tumor's real size from pathology. If accurate, MRI could help plan better treatments without needing invasive measurements.
