New study aims to reduce side effects of prostate cancer radiation

NCT ID NCT04384770

Summary

This study is comparing two different imaging methods used to guide radiation treatment for prostate cancer. It aims to see if using MRI scans to guide the radiation causes fewer side effects, like urinary or bowel problems, compared to the standard CT scan method. About 180 men with localized prostate cancer will receive the same radiation dose, but will be randomly assigned to have it guided by either MRI or CT imaging.
