New MRI scans could replace invasive angiography for brain AVM Follow-Up

NCT ID NCT02896881

Summary

This study tested whether new types of MRI scans could be as effective as the current standard (invasive angiography) at detecting leftover brain arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) after an embolization treatment. Researchers enrolled 53 adults who had scheduled embolization for their brain AVM. The goal was to see if the less invasive MRI could accurately show whether the treatment was complete, which is crucial for preventing future bleeding risks.
