New scan could warn cancer patients of jawbone damage risk

NCT ID NCT06586892

Summary

This study is testing whether a special type of MRI scan can predict which head and neck cancer patients will develop serious jawbone damage after radiation treatment. Researchers will follow 300 patients at high risk for this complication, performing regular MRI scans and tracking their dental health over three years. The goal is to create a better tool for early detection, allowing doctors to intervene before severe damage occurs.
