New MRI technique could catch knee arthritis earlier

NCT ID NCT07316257

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study looks at whether adding a T2 mapping sequence to a standard knee MRI can help doctors see early signs of osteoarthritis more clearly. About 70 people—some with early knee arthritis and some healthy—will get the extra scan. The goal is to improve detection of cartilage changes before the disease gets worse.
