Scientists scan brains to uncover hidden thinking problems in spinal cord injury

NCT ID NCT06309888

Summary

This study used MRI brain scans to understand how spinal cord injury affects thinking skills like focus, word recall, and mental flexibility. Researchers compared brain activity and structure in 54 adults with and without spinal cord injury while they performed thinking tasks. The goal was to map how these 'non-motor' problems show up in the brain, as they are often overlooked during rehabilitation.
