Researchers scan how neck movements affect brain fluid

NCT ID NCT00795080

Summary

This study uses special MRI scans to understand how different neck positions affect the flow of cerebrospinal fluid around the brain and spinal cord. Researchers are studying people with Chiari malformations (a condition where brain tissue extends into the spinal canal) to see if fluid flow patterns relate to their symptoms. The goal is to gather knowledge that might help predict surgical outcomes, but this is purely a measurement study that doesn't test treatments.
