Summary
This study tested whether a special MRI technique called Arterial Spin Labeling (ASL) can measure brain blood flow to help diagnose autism in children aged 5 to 17. The goal was to replace PET scans, which use radiation, with a safer, non-invasive method. Researchers studied 115 children with autism or suspected autism to see if ASL could serve as a reliable biomarker for diagnosis.
