Doctors use brain scans to predict vision damage

NCT ID NCT03651362

Summary

This study aimed to see if a special type of MRI scan, taken soon after a person has an episode of optic neuritis, can predict how much vision they might lose a year later. Researchers followed 46 people who had a recent first-time attack of optic neuritis. They compared the size of the nerve damage on the initial MRI scan to the amount of vision loss measured one year later.
