MRI scans could unlock secrets of problem pregnancies

NCT ID NCT04166448

Summary

This study aimed to test whether MRI scans could provide better information about how the placenta works during pregnancy, especially when a baby isn't growing properly. Researchers planned to compare MRI measurements of blood flow and structure in placentas from high-risk and low-risk pregnancies. The goal was to improve understanding of placental problems that can affect both immediate birth outcomes and long-term child health, but the study was withdrawn before any participants were enrolled.
