New scan could catch lung transplant rejection before It's too late

NCT ID NCT05550662

Summary

This study tested whether a special type of MRI scan using xenon gas could detect signs of chronic lung rejection in transplant patients earlier than current tests. Researchers aimed to scan lung transplant recipients, comparing those with and without signs of rejection, to see if the new scan could spot problems sooner. The goal was to find damage early so doctors could try to slow it down before it becomes permanent.
