First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tested a non-invasive brain stimulation technique called rTMS in 85 people with schizophrenia who still had severe hallucinations despite medication. By using MRI scans to precisely target the brain areas causing the hallucinations, researchers aimed to reduce how often and how intense these experiences are. The goal was to offer a new option for those whose symptoms don't improve with standard drugs.
