Brain zaps target stubborn hallucinations in schizophrenia

NCT ID NCT01373866

Summary

This study tested whether a non-invasive brain stimulation technique could help people with schizophrenia who experience persistent hallucinations that don't respond to medication. Researchers used detailed MRI brain scans to precisely target the stimulation, hoping this approach would be more effective. The trial involved 85 participants who received either the real treatment or a sham version to compare results.
