New scan aims to map nerve, reduce facial paralysis risk in tumor surgery
NCT ID NCT04613349
Summary
This study is testing whether a special, high-resolution MRI scan can help surgeons better plan operations to remove parotid gland tumors. The scan aims to create a detailed map showing the tumor's exact position relative to the important facial nerve. Researchers will compare the MRI's predictions to what the surgeon actually sees during the operation and check for post-surgery facial paralysis.
