New brain scan tech aims to pinpoint hidden epilepsy sources

NCT ID NCT07384351

Summary

This study aims to see if combining two advanced MRI techniques with standard MRI can better identify the exact spot in the brain where seizures start in people with temporal lobe epilepsy. It will involve 78 participants who have this type of epilepsy but whose standard MRI scans don't clearly show the problem area. The goal is to improve diagnosis and help plan surgery for those whose seizures don't respond to medication.
