MRI may predict how well robotic surgery removes HPV+ tonsil cancer

NCT ID NCT07060261

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a special MRI scan taken before robotic surgery can help doctors predict if all the cancer will be removed. It involves 30 adults with HPV-positive tonsil cancer who are scheduled for transoral robotic surgery. The MRI will measure the thickness of a muscle around the tonsils to see if it matches how cleanly the cancer is cut out.
