First seen May 11, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looked at 60 people with a genetic risk for familial amyloid neuropathy, a severe nerve disease. Researchers tested whether MRI scans and a special electrical test called MUNIX could detect early nerve changes before symptoms appear. The goal was to find better ways to decide when to start treatment, avoiding both unnecessary side effects and delayed care.
