Freezing out Cancer's comeback: new hope for tough prostate cases

NCT ID NCT01727284

Summary

This study is testing a procedure called MR-guided cryoablation to treat prostate cancer that has returned after initial treatment. It uses an MRI to precisely guide a probe that freezes and destroys the tumor. The goal is to see if this freezing technique is safe and effective for controlling cancer recurrence in patients who are not good candidates for more surgery or radiation.
