Ancient heat therapy trialed to shield transplant patients from agonizing complication

NCT ID NCT06198517

Summary

This study is testing whether adding moxibustion, a traditional Chinese heat therapy, to standard care can prevent a painful bladder condition called hemorrhagic cystitis in patients recovering from stem cell transplants. It will involve 266 patients who have received a donor stem cell transplant for blood diseases. Researchers will compare outcomes between patients who receive standard care alone and those who also receive daily moxibustion treatments for two weeks after their transplant.
