First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested a mouthwash containing chlorhexidine and chlorine dioxide against a placebo for treating bad breath (halitosis). Forty adults with bad breath rinsed twice daily for two weeks, then switched treatments after a break. The researchers measured breath gases, plaque, gum health, and bacteria to see if the active mouthwash worked better.
