New mouth rinse tested for better healing after tooth removal

NCT ID NCT07191262

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tests whether a new EDTA mouth rinse helps gums heal better after a tooth is pulled and bone grafted, compared to standard rinses like chlorhexidine and essential oil. About 40 adults who need a single tooth removed and bone grafting for a future dental implant will use one of the rinses. Researchers will check wound closure and plaque buildup over 12 weeks to see which rinse works best.
