First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study tests whether injections of stem cells from donated fat tissue can reduce scarring and tightness around the mouth in people with systemic scleroderma. About 50 adults with limited mouth opening and significant mouth disability will receive either stem cells or a placebo. The goal is to see if the treatment improves mouth function and quality of life over 12 weeks, while monitoring for side effects.
