New study aims to help mothers in recovery build stronger bonds with their children

Summary

This study tests a program called Mothering from the Inside Out (MIO) for mothers recovering from substance use disorders. The goal is to see if it helps mothers better understand their children's needs and reduce parenting stress. About 200 mothers in outpatient treatment will take part. The program is designed to support both the mother's recovery and the child's well-being.
