First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study tested whether adding morphine to the standard spinal anesthetic (bupivacaine) could provide longer pain relief for people having hernia repair surgery. Fifty adults were randomly assigned to receive either the morphine combination or bupivacaine alone. The main goal was to see how long it took before patients needed extra pain medication after surgery.
