Fewer shots for kidney patients? study tests monthly anemia treatment

NCT ID NCT07025460

Summary

This study tested if giving a drug for anemia (darbepoetin alfa) just once a month works as well as giving it every two weeks for people with advanced kidney disease who are not on dialysis. The goal was to see if the less frequent schedule could maintain healthy red blood cell levels while making treatment easier for patients. All 40 participants completed the study, and the monthly schedule was found to be just as effective as the biweekly one.
