Could a common cosmetic drug shrink painful skin tumors?

NCT ID NCT06300502

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether giving monthly injections of an FDA-approved drug called Kybella (deoxycholate) can safely reduce the size and improve the appearance of skin tumors in adults with Neurofibromatosis Type 1. Researchers will treat up to 50 tumors in a single body area over six months, comparing them to untreated tumors. The main goals are to see if the treatment is well-tolerated and if it can shrink individual tumors by more than half.
