Fewer needles, same results: monthly anemia shot effective for kidney patients

NCT ID NCT07025460

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tested whether a once-monthly shot of darbepoetin alfa can keep hemoglobin levels stable in people with advanced chronic kidney disease who are not on dialysis. Forty Korean adults who had stable hemoglobin on every-2-week shots switched to monthly shots for 12 weeks. Results showed monthly dosing worked just as well, with no new safety concerns. This simpler schedule could make treatment easier for patients and reduce healthcare visits.
