Blood cancer clue hunt: immune cells may hold key to better diagnosis

NCT ID NCT06361641

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study looks at a type of immune cell called monocytes in people with certain blood cancers (myeloproliferative neoplasms). Researchers want to see if these cells have unique features that could help diagnose the disease more accurately. About 70 adults with polycythemia vera, essential thrombocythemia, or primary myelofibrosis will provide blood samples for analysis. The goal is to find new markers that could lead to better diagnosis and treatment in the future.
