New monitor aims to keep seniors safer during colonoscopy

NCT ID NCT06987630

Summary

This study tested if using a special monitor during sedated colonoscopy could help prevent low oxygen levels in patients aged 65 and older. The monitor tracks breathing and oxygen levels to alert doctors sooner. Researchers compared 153 patients who used the monitor to those who did not, to see if it reduced these safety events.
