New sensors aim to prevent hidden leg damage in surgery

NCT ID NCT07387653

Summary

This study is testing whether special sensors placed on the legs during long pelvic surgeries can detect early signs of poor blood flow. Researchers will monitor 30 patients having surgeries lasting over 2 hours while they're positioned with their legs elevated. The goal is to gather information that could help prevent leg nerve and muscle damage that sometimes happens after these procedures.
