Doctors test tiny probe to check healing bone transplants
NCT ID NCT01879384
Summary
This study tested whether a tiny monitoring catheter could be placed directly into transplanted bone tissue to check its health. It involved 34 patients who had bone tissue transplanted during reconstructive surgery for head and neck cancer or trauma. The goal was to see if this direct monitoring method was possible and could provide useful information about how well the bone was healing.
