New drug hope for rare inflammatory VEXAS syndrome

NCT ID NCT07098936

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This phase 2 trial tests the drug momelotinib in 57 people with VEXAS syndrome, a rare inflammatory condition that may also involve a bone marrow disorder called MDS. Participants receive momelotinib daily, and doctors check if symptoms improve and if steroid doses can be lowered. The study first finds the safest dose, then measures how well the drug controls the disease over 24 weeks.

momelotinib

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a new treatment option to control VEXAS syndrome symptoms and reduce reliance on steroids.
