New study tests best way to save teeth with advanced gum disease

Summary

This study looks at two ways to treat severe gum disease that has reached the area where the roots of back teeth split. About 59 adults with advanced periodontitis will receive either non-surgical cleaning or a surgical procedure. The main goal is to see which approach helps the tooth survive longer over 5 years.
